Most storage tanks containing petroleum or chemical products are large cylindrical vessel positioning aboveground. Unlike underground storage tank, the aboveground tank can be designed to retain various capacities of products. Also they are relatively uncomplicated to construct. Maintenance can be done regularly by external visual inspection, roundness or wall thickness check. Extensive inspection shall be scheduled at interval so that tank floor, tank wall and components parts are thoroughly inspected, repaired or replaced.
