Operations in industrial plants, particularly Petroleum Refinery, Petroleum Terminal, Petrochemical Plant, Steel Mill, Cement Plant, Sugar Plant, must continue around-the-clock for a long period of time. Damage or failure of any component or equipment may cause forced shutdown, resulting in loss of time or serious injury. Maintenance inspection — both on-stream and during periodical turn around modification — shall be conducted to minimize risk, ensure equipment integrity and in many cases significantly minimize loss in the process.
General damage due to lack of maintenance inspection or improper repairing procedure are such as tank and boiler explosion, chemical leakage, corrosion in piping and tank floor, fracture of shaft etc.
